DPV Cave Diving
The DPV cave diving training programs are designed to provide training for openwater divers and cave divers who are qualified for diving, have experience swimming, and have wishes and needs to conduct dives that warrant the use of a scooter or DPV. These training programs, and in particular the cave DPV training programs, address the cave conservation concerns and the ethical responsibilities of divers who wish to use DPV's for extended penetration, touring, or exploration cave dives. The DPV training programs involve intense skills in gear failure, diving limits, conservation concerns, and decompression concerns. We have published a number of good articles on our Blog relating to DPV cave diving. Please have a look.
Openwater DPV diver
The liberation of DPV diving in terms of driving the DPV around reefs or wrecks even in a stiff current have brought the world of DPV diving into the openwater. The openwater DPV course takes three days to complete.
Basic DPV Cave diver
This course is designed for the cave diver who is looking for advanced training in different equipment configurations and diving techniques. DPV diving is an extremely comfortable way of diving further into the cave. This is a four day course with cave diving, DPV configuration and additional theory.
The Advanced DPV Cave diver
These training programs are designed to provide training for DPV cave divers who are qualified as DPV cave divers, have experience in DPV cave diving and have wishes and needs to conduct long penetration cave dives that warrant the use of multiple DPV or multiple stages. These training programs also address the conservation concerns and the ethical responsibilities of divers who wish to use DPVs for extended penetration, touring, or exploration.
After the basic DPV training with cave penetration somewhat limited to what has been achived while swimming some cave divers may wish to expand their knowledge, experience and cave penetration into advanced DPV diving where long distance cave penetrations with the aid of a backup DPV are realized. The advanced DPV training program takes three days to complete.
